You’re right! @Averitt If your LMS supports SCORM 2004, @EmilyWilson there’s no reason to stick with SCORM 1.2

Here are the reasons:

  • Enhanced Features: SCORM 2004 offers better functionality, handling complex interactions, more flexible data storage, and improved communication between LMS and course content.
  • Wider Support: While SCORM 1.2 is still in use, SCORM 2004 is the current standard, supported by most modern LMS platforms.
  • Future-Proof: Choosing SCORM 2004 ensures compatibility with future LMS updates and advancements.

In short, using SCORM 2004 is the best practice for creating and delivering online courses, leveraging its capabilities to make your courses more effective and future-proof.

SCORM 1.2 has limitations in tracking and reporting detailed learner interactions. It primarily captures completion status, scores, and basic interactions, which may not be sufficient for modern e-learning analytics needs.
