Here is the question: What is it like to be an LMS Administrator? Is it stressful? Is the pay good for where you live?
I am currently working on E-learning development and LMS operations at a fast-growing startup. My boss said he wants to train me to become a full-time LMS Administrator instead of my current mixed role.
I have been enjoying E-learning development, but I wanted to find out more about what an LMS Administrator does.
As mentioned by another, this might be extremely wide or limited. I would think that your obligations would be on the broad end of the range if you are a start-up. The day-to-day details include assigning learning objects, tracking completions and due dates, debugging technological issues, and so forth. As you advance, you can be in charge of the LMS’s appearance and feel, as well as the structure of the content collection. Does your LMS come from an outside vendor? Depending on the size of your company, you may even be involved in maintaining that vendor relationship and collaborating with them on requests for new features and other things.
I’ve only ever done LMS administration and content production. I enjoy developing curricula, reporting, and systems, but I feel much more creative when creating courses and producing videos. I personally prefer having both.
