I’m working on a presentation where I have a talking head video in the top right corner of each slide, and icons with captions fade in as the talking head discusses corresponding points. Each slide has 4-5 points, which eventually fill the screen by the end.
However, I’m facing an issue: until the first point appears, the majority of the slide is quite blank because the talking head is only occupying a small corner. Currently, I use a stock photo that fades out just before the first point is introduced, but I’m looking for better solutions.
Any suggestions on how to make the empty space less awkward or more engaging during the initial part of the slide?
To fill the blank space, try adding subtle background animations or placeholder graphics related to the slide topic. You can also use design elements like borders or patterns, or introduce the slide with engaging text. These can keep the slide dynamic until the points start appearing.
Consider using a dynamic background or animation that complements the talking head and anticipates the content. For example, incorporate subtle, abstract animations or graphics that relate to the topic, or use a visually engaging transition effect that smoothly introduces the points. This can make the slide visually appealing even before content appears.
To create engaging slides with a talking head video, consider using subtle background animations, text overlays, subtle motion graphics, gradient or color transitions, and a brief talking head introduction. These techniques help keep the slide visually interesting and engaging, even before the main content appears. Use a font that complements your design, add subtle animations or motion graphics, and gradually transition the background color or gradient as the slide progresses. Ensure the colors align with your overall theme and have a brief talking head introduction before diving into the points. Remember, simplicity is key, and avoid overpowering the main message.
