I remember taking an online course that was a total snoozefest. The lectures were long and dry, and the assignments were mind-numbing. How can we make eLearning more engaging? What are your favorite learning techniques? They might help me focus better on the course!
Honestly, as an adult, I find it more valuable to see my progress than just having ‘fun’. Scenario-based checks are great for this because they show you where you went wrong and why.

Yeah, that’s a good point! Learning can’t be boring with long lectures, right? I think scenario-based learning and microlearning might help.
People really need to move away from slide-based training. Integrating videos into your courses makes a big difference. Well-made videos engage viewers so much better.

Can you give a brief example of how to integrate videos?
Microlearning is key! Long lectures mean people retain like 10%. Also, interactivity keeps people engaged. Check out platforms for community microlearning!

I love interactive microlearning modules! They keep me engaged so much better.
Why does eLearning need to be fun? I think it should be rewarding instead. Start with small wins to motivate learners to keep going.

I disagree. It should be both fun and rewarding! No one enjoys boring courses, even if there’s a reward at the end.
@Mary
Exactly! It can definitely be both.
In my experience, the case method with project-based learning works wonders. The story element keeps things engaging and allows learners to explore concepts effectively.

Thanks for that! It sounds like a solid approach.
Does this sound like AI to anyone else?

Yeah, it did to me too. Maybe it’s just the enthusiasm of the OP.
Gamification could really add some life to online courses!

Totally agree! Gamification encourages us to engage more with our learning.
How about giving out certifications? That could be a good motivator.

Yes! Certifications can motivate learners to complete courses. But what happens if they get bored? Fun quizzes could help, right?
Engagement comes from relevance. You can’t just slap on gamification or certificates and expect magic. You need to align content with real work tasks.
