Hello to all of you! Recently, I discovered Microsoft Viva Learning while researching other learning management systems (LMS) for our company. If Viva Learning can be utilised as a functional LMS, that is what I would like to know. Is everything that is required for creating, monitoring, and reporting courses included? Has anyone ever integrated it with another system before? We would be very grateful for your experiences and insights!
Hello!
Great to hear you’re exploring Microsoft Viva Learning as an LMS! Here are a few things to consider:
Functionality:
- Course Creation: Viva Learning mainly aggregates content from sources like LinkedIn Learning and Microsoft Learn, so it may not offer robust course creation features.
- Monitoring & Reporting: It provides tracking and reporting but may not be as comprehensive as traditional LMS platforms. It’s best as a supplement to your current system.
Integration:
- With Microsoft 365: Viva Learning integrates seamlessly, embedding learning within tools employees already use.
- With Other Systems: Compatibility can vary, so check if it works with your existing tools or requires custom integration.
Overall, Viva Learning is valuable, especially if you’re using Microsoft 365, but it might be best used alongside a traditional LMS.
I’d love to hear from others who have integrated Viva Learning. Your insights would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Yes, Viva Learning can function as a Learning Management System (LMS). It integrates with various content providers, organizes training resources, tracks learning progress, and offers personalized learning experiences within Microsoft Teams, enhancing workplace learning and development.
VL is precisely what I’m looking for - a course aggregator that brings in content from external sources instead of starting from scratch and creating my own. I think LMS365 addresses the missing native creation functionality in VL, so there’s no need for them to develop it from scratch in VL.
