Best Online Masters for Marriage Counseling?

My wife’s been wanting to start an online master’s in Marriage and Family Counseling. She was pretty set on Northcentral University after a really great phone interview. But when we started reading online reviews, we were shocked… It seemed like such a good option, but now we’re feeling iffy.

Does anyone here know of a solid online master’s program for marriage and family counseling? Looking for something reputable. Thanks!

My wife’s in the same spot! She was looking at online programs and Northcentral came up. We also saw some mixed reviews though, so now we’re unsure. If you find any good options, please share!

Have you looked into Capella University? A friend of mine did her counseling degree there online and seemed happy with it. The classes are flexible, which helped her a lot.

@Johnstone
Thanks, we’ll look into Capella! Was your friend able to find a job easily after graduating? That’s one of our biggest concerns.

I’ve been hearing good things about Walden University’s counseling programs. A colleague recommended it since they’re accredited and the classes are really well-structured.

Walden’s definitely one we’ll add to the list! Do you know if they offer any specific support for licensing after graduation?

@tsuna
Yeah, I think they have advisors who help guide you through the licensing process after you finish. Pretty handy if that’s something you’re worried about!

Have you thought about Liberty University? I looked into it a while back, and they seemed legit. Plus, I think they’re pretty affordable compared to others.

Liberty, huh? I’ll check them out. Were you considering their counseling program too?

@tsuna
Yep, I was! They have a few options depending on what area of counseling you’re interested in, so it might be worth a look.

Just my two cents, but be careful with these online reviews. Sometimes it’s just people venting, and it doesn’t always reflect the whole picture. Maybe try talking to actual grads if you can?

Good point. I guess we got spooked reading all that stuff online, lol. I’ll try to reach out to alumni or find some forums where people talk about their experiences.

Honestly, check with some local colleges. A lot of traditional schools are offering online options now and they tend to have good reputations!

Not a bad idea, thanks! We were just hoping to go fully online, but it’s worth seeing if any local options work too.

@tsuna
Yeah, I totally get that. Sometimes local schools will even let you do most classes online, so it could be a good balance!
