"Why aren't LMS platforms like Thinkific and Learnworlds recommended more often?

LMS platforms such as Thinkific and Learnworlds appear polished, feature-rich, and user-friendly. Despite this, forums suggest they aren’t the preferred choices. I find this puzzling. What distinguishes “go-to” LMS platforms from those overlooked?

Hey, I’ve used Thinkific for our company LMS and it pretty much had 90% of what we needed, all for less than $2000 a year. Now we’re on Docebo, which costs us over $50,000 annually. Quite a jump!

After thoroughly researching LMS (Learning Management System) platforms like Thinkific and Learnworlds, I can provide some insights on why they may not be recommended as often as other options: While Thinkific and Learnworlds are capable LMS platforms that offer features for creating and selling online courses, they tend to be overshadowed by more well-known and established players in the e-learning space, such as Teachable, Kajabi, and Udemy. These larger platforms often have more robust feature sets, stronger brand recognition, and larger user bases, making them the go-to recommendations for many course creators. Additionally, Thinkific and Learnworlds may be perceived as more niche or less versatile compared to the all-in-one functionality of some of the leading LMS solutions. However, they can still be excellent choices for certain use cases or creators with specific needs, and their affordability and ease of use make them worth considering, especially for those just starting out in the online education market.
