Trainual vs Docebo?

Hi all, I’m currently looking for a new LMS for my organization. We work remotely, and Docebo seems like a perfect fit, but the price is quite high compared to Trainual, which appears to be more focused on our needs for onboarding and updating procedures or issuing tests as needed. Am I missing something important here that I should consider before making a decision?

Possible holes: Do you actually need an LMS? Or do you just need content hosted somewhere like WordPress? Are you tracking completions? What kind of reporting do you need? Do you have someone to configure and administer on your end or do you need to have someone else do it? What other requirements do you have? What type of scale do you foresee needing in the future? Why are these two systems the ones you’re comparing?

Docebo is a great product, forward-thinking, and it will increase in capabilities over time. They have awesome support and are now offering GO1 content at reasonable pricing.

Are you a Docebo admin at your company? I’m curious to know more about your experience with growing and maintaining the system.

Not too sure about reasonable pricing. They’re often one of the highest whenever I’ve scoped projects out. Lots of features and great people, but that definitely comes at a cost.

No disrespect intended… I am a Docebo admin for my company, and three phrases I would never use to describe them are awesome support/staff, great product, and forward-thinking. My experience has been quite the opposite.

If your need is so simple, why not use WordPress and an xAPI plugin? It’s straightforward, and WordPress would cover content authoring. You can choose xAPI/LRS vendors based on the level of analytics and reporting you need.

Simple in terms of content, we need to send out mass amounts to 2,000 employees at our highest, and keep accurate records.

Consider Courseplay! It’s much more user-friendly and the pricing is unbelievable.

Have you done an LMS evaluation for your organization’s needs? This can help further identify gaps between the two or how they may not be necessary at all.

Think about what your next steps may be. If you are going to saturate Trainual in short order, it may be worth stretching for Docebo. But if you just have a small niche to fill, you may be fully content with Trainual.

I’m in the same dilemma. We’re currently using Articulate Online, but it’s not satisfying our needs. We need around 6000+ licenses. Recycling licenses is a hassle in Articulate Online since I have to delete a user one by one. Plus, tracking outside is a mess because if I delete one, all their statuses are gone.

@Arlen
If you find one with a relatively good price, please post an update or let me know.

Have you looked at Thinkific? They are better priced and have a Plus plan that allows for multi-sites and unlimited admins, which might help with your needs.

I’ve used Trainual and found it very easy to use and write content. Structuring curriculum isn’t as straightforward though.

Why not try Teachable, Moodle, or EduPAAS?

We are trying to set up Trainual for our employees. We want to include videos and an animated handbook. Who should I recruit when looking at freelancers to support us with getting videos, animations, and all the content done on Trainual?
