Thinkific vs. Other platforms... anyone have thoughts?

I work at a non-profit and we’re using Thinkific through a third party, which is a whole mess. We’re currently on the Plus Lite plan, but the prices have shot up a lot recently, so we’re thinking of checking out other options. We have about 200-300 annual enrollees for five courses, plus a resource library with older webinars. We really want to start doing live online training and recording webinars too. The discussion boards in our courses are super important for engagement, but we’re not fans of Thinkific’s data analytics—it’s just too complicated. We usually offer our courses for free since we’re grant-funded, but we’re looking to possibly charge for services outside of our usual sectors in the future. Anyone here with experience on Thinkific and other platforms? Would love any input!

I feel you on the data analytics part. It can be such a headache to manage! Have you thought about platforms like Teachable or Kajabi?

Teachable is pretty user-friendly! I’ve heard good things about their analytics too.

@ROBERT
Nice, I’ll check that out! What’s the main difference with the features?

I’ve used Thinkific before, and yeah, it can be clunky. Have you tried looking into Moodle? It’s a bit more flexible.

Moodle is great, but it might take some time to set up. Are you ready for that?

@Alston
Good point! We might need something quicker to implement since we’re on a tight schedule.

What about using Zoom for live training? You can record the sessions pretty easily.

Yeah, Zoom could work for live sessions, but you’d need a platform to host the recorded webinars, right?

@Mary
Exactly! We need a way to manage everything smoothly after recording.

I think you might like Thinkific for the structured courses, but definitely check those other platforms for the live stuff.

IDK about the costs though, have you checked if there are discounts for non-profits?

@Williams
Good idea! I’ll look into that. Saving some cash would be awesome.

Honestly, switching platforms sounds like a hassle. But if Thinkific isn’t working, it might be worth it in the long run.

Yeah, change can be tough. Have you considered just reaching out to their support for help first?

@Akira
True! I might give them a shot before jumping ship. Thanks for the tip!
