The right strategy of developing e-learning curriculum

For the past 2 years, I’ve been mentoring many learning professionals at HeyCoach. When I think back to the early stages of mentoring, I realize it’s not just about knowledge; it’s about how we deliver it. During my time at HeyCoach, we had to streamline the curriculum, which required a strategic blend of structure, adaptability, and engagement to meet learners’ needs, especially for technical interviews. After many iterations and research, here are the key pointers we identified for developing an effective curriculum:

  • Scaffolded learning: Gradually progressing from basics to complex concepts like DSA builds confidence.
  • Interactive reinforcement: Quizzes, coding assignments, and real-time feedback solidify understanding.
  • Practical application: Case analyses and simulations mimic real-world scenarios, preparing learners for challenges at companies like Meta or Google.
  • Lifelong learning: Regularly updated modules keep learners relevant in evolving tech landscapes.

I agree with all the pointers you mentioned, but I think you put so much effort into forming a curriculum but might be missing out somewhere in the tech part.

Thanks for your input! What specific tech aspects do you think need more focus?

Lifelong learning is such an underrated concept in tech. The industry evolves so rapidly that staying up to date isn’t optional.
