Selecting LMS for customer training

Hello to all of you.

I need assistance selecting the best platform for our company’s new customer training university because I am new to LSM and e-learning. It is daunting with so many options available.

TalentLMS, docebo, skilljar, absorb, learnupon, and myTrailhead have all been examined. Excellent learned experience, simple catalog navigation, robust support for content development (rich text formatting, version control, collaborative review), learner support channels, comprehensive analytics, white labeling, SSO, and deep integrations are all necessary.

My questions:

Many LMS platforms lack a robust built-in authoring tool. What are common workflows for effective content creation without relying on LMS tools?

  1. Have you used any of these LMS systems? How was usability and support?

  2. Are there other LMS platforms you recommend?

  3. Could another type of eLearning system better suit our needs?

Thanks in Advance

In light of your specified needs, I would investigate Totara. It’s an open-source LMS built on the Moodle platform. I’ve conducted customer training for several companies in your exact situation.

Anything that doesn’t quite suit your demands can always be developed because it’s open source.

I’ve used LearnUpon for managing customer training, and it’s been great. It is user-friendly and their support is solid. If you’re exploring other options, Bridge by Instructure and Moodle are worth considering, especially if you prefer open-source solutions. Alternatively, if you’re looking to personalize learning paths and curate content more dynamically, a Learning Experience Platform (LXP) might be a better fit than a traditional LMS. It all depends on your specific needs and how you want to engage your customers in their training journey.
