Hey guys, at my mid-size nonprofit, we’ve been using Moodle for our LMS, but it’s not as user-friendly as we need for wider adoption, especially among volunteers. We’re expanding our e-learning capabilities and have the budget to invest.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- User-friendly for teachers
- No per-user/course pricing. Prefer tiered models.
- Easy interface for course designers and teachers
- Certification/program tracking preferred
- Recurring training management is a plus
- Granular admin roles needed
- In-course collaboration tools like forums and peer reviews
- Course certificates with validation
- Public-facing registration/enrollment for staff and volunteers
Not necessary:
- Payment processing for courses
- Advanced grading tools
Any recommendations for LMS platforms that fit these needs?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Take a look at Thinkific; it offers nearly all the features you might need (though I’m not certain about how it handles certificate validation). Give their free trial a try to see if it fits your needs.
I use it for my site: https://www.tpock.com, so you can check out a real example if you’d like.

360Learning is used and loved by various non-profits, including those related to education and others. If you’re interested, I’d be glad to share more details about how these organizations use it. For example, you can see how Idea Public Schools benefit from it here: 360Learning Case Study.

Hey there! I used to work for an Australian company called OpenLearning that has exactly what you need. If you’re interested, send me a direct message, and I can offer you a discount for NGOs. I’d be happy to guide you through the platform too if you’d like.
