Receiving payments for courses hosted on Teachable through a different platform

Does the end user need to pay through the platform, or is it possible to charge for Teachable courses using my platform? They charge a little too much, and I want to set my prices.

Members of an organization, for instance, will receive a lower pricing, but to receive that rate, I must first confirm their membership.

On Teachable, payments are typically handled through their platform, which means you don’t have direct control over payment processing or pricing adjustments for your courses. However, you can set your own course prices and offer discount codes for specific groups. For your scenario, where organization members receive a lower rate, you can use Teachable’s coupon codes to provide discounts after verifying membership. If you want more control over payment processing and pricing, you might consider using a different platform or integrating a payment gateway that allows for more flexible pricing structures and payment options.

You can accept the payment and check if the person is a member. If they are not, you can give them a full refund and remove them from the course. You might also give them a link for a specific discounted payment plan, but be careful—if that link gets shared, it could cause issues. Another option is to create unique, one-time-use coupon codes or links. You can make these codes in large batches and send them out as needed.

To receive payments for courses hosted on Teachable, you need to set up a payment gateway in your school’s Settings > Payments menu. The available gateways depend on your plan and country. Check the Payment Gateway Options section for details.
