I’ve come across only a handful of reviews online, most of which focus on IT and implementation aspects. The majority of content and product information seems to be provided by Oracle, resembling more of a sales pitch. With my organization gearing up to implement Oracle likely in the upcoming fiscal year, I’m eager to gain insights into what lies ahead. Our implementation vendor has steered me towards Oracle resources, but I’m keen to gather additional perspectives or unearth any overlooked information.
I’m particularly interested in understanding how the transition to Oracle has been for others. Have they facilitated/support content migration from existing LMS platforms? Currently, our system operates on SCORM & AICC, necessitating completion/compliance tracking. Does Oracle support these standards, along with xAPI/tincan? Additionally, I’m curious about the capability to present content to external users, which isn’t a feature we currently have.
Given our reliance on mobile access, especially for off-site team members, I’m particularly anxious about how well the mobile feature is handled by Oracle.
In terms of comparison, I have experience with various LMS platforms like Litmos, Moodle/Moodle Rooms/Totaro, Meridian KS, and Percipio. Are there any parallels worth noting?
Lastly, I’m open to any other insights or considerations that might ease the transition process for our 5,000+ headcount. While I anticipate challenges, any information that could mitigate potential issues would be greatly appreciated as I strive to support our teams through this change.
Transitioning to a new Learning Management System (LMS) like Oracle can be a significant undertaking, especially for a large organization.
In case you are worried about content migration and standards support, Oracle’s LMS supports SCORM and AICC standards, which should facilitate the migration of content from your existing system that operates on these standards1. It also supports xAPI/tincan, allowing for a broader range of tracking and reporting capabilities
hi liam brother, oracle’s people soft elm is an integrated application that enhances workforce knowledge, skills, and abilities. By helping employees gain new proficiencies,
Finding real reviews on Oracle LMS is tough. It’s a good system (I’ve used a bunch!), but there are some things to know.
Moving your stuff over (SCORM, AICC) can be tricky, but Oracle tracks things well once it’s in. Sharing with outsiders? They got you covered!
The mobile app isn’t the best (think a bit clunky), so your team might have some questions. The switch won’t be super easy, but it can be done for your big team. Talk to others who’ve done it and get all the info you can.
well,…Oracle’s LMS platform supports SCORM and AICC standards but does not handle xAPI/tincan. Content migration is often complex, and mobile functionality can be unreliable. External user content presentation is not supported. Expect a steep learning curve compared to other LMS platforms you’ve used.
hi people aint hard to crack, this offer is that a unified platform for delivering diverse learning materials, encompassing conventional eLearning courses, social learning opportunities, and content sourced from external providers such as linkedIn learning.
As others have mentioned, Oracle is vast, with many different products even within the database space. To narrow down your search, look for the specific Oracle technology mentioned in the job description. For example, I saw a Senior Accountant position that mentions “Oracle GL” (Oracle General Ledger) and Oracle Hyperion. Start by exploring those specific technologies.
