Online Courses for Transfer Students

I’ve been considering applying to UGA as a transfer student to get my bachelors degree in criminal justice, and I was wanting to know if I would be able to do all of my courses online? Essentially be completely online, and never go to the campus. Or would I be required to live on campus? My personal schedule is quite complicated and online learning just works better for me since it can be at my own pace, and I just wanted to know if UGA would be where I continued my education. Thanks in advance for the help.

Undergraduate courses here are meant to be taught in-person. I wouldn’t bank too much on having online courses available—especially for upper-levels.

Thank you for the help, seems to be a more graduate school option

In my experience, the only online classes you will be getting here are during the summer.

No prob! Its possible to pursue an undergraduate degree here as a commuter with different commitments but you better be truly motivated to do so. I had a few friends who were able to pack their courses into a Tuesday/Thursday schedule while commuting an hour away and working part-time.

Getting a graduate degree here is definitely a lot more flexible contrary to popular belief. More virtual programs, and the degrees require less coursework year-round with the opportunity to pursue them part-time. I’d take a look at the MPA program since they take loads of students every year and have a satellite campus in Gwinnett.

That level of commitment is admirable. But I think UGA may be my choice of graduate school, my search continues!

You don’t need to live on campus. The real issue here is that UGA has very few online classes so being virtual would be quite difficult. UGA is slowly offering more virtual degrees, but I believe those are mostly masters degrees, not bachelors

The only online class I know about is called, “Success For Transfer Students” But I took the in person one, so I could get my Experiential Learning credit.

There are a few online over the summer, but you’ll need to take most of your classes during the fall/ spring, and all of those will be in person. If you need online school, UGA is not a good option for you.
