Need help scoping a project and finding the appropriate LMS and/or consultant to help?

Hi guys, I would love someone’s help! I run a mostly in-person education company geared toward school districts. We do skill development workshops and I’m looking to move some of our services online. I want to open up some workshops where all school employees can access the content. Some of it may be coursework, while other parts could be video presentations over PowerPoint, etc. Here’s a rough idea of what I’m aiming to build. I’d love suggestions for an LMS and any consulting companies that could assist me with this project.

Sounds like Learnworlds might fit the bill here. Feel free to DM me if you’re interested in hiring a consultant to do a needs analysis and help you set this up.

Itslearning is another potential option. Please reach out if you need some consulting or assistance with this.

It really depends on your budget and how much time/effort you want to put into this. It can be quite a simple setup that’ll take you a month or two to get up and running by yourself + a freelancer, or it can be a mega project requiring a full-time hire for 6+ months. I’d be happy to have a chat - free of charge. I’ll DM you.

Hey, exciting that you’re moving some of your in-person workshops online! From what you’ve described, I think WPLMS would be a great fit for your project. It’s built on WordPress, which gives you a ton of flexibility to meet your different needs—paid vs. free content, group access, webinars, and community features. WPLMS is perfect for setting up different ‘rooms’ or sections. You can easily control access to these rooms, whether they’re free, paid, or restricted to specific groups like school districts or unions. You can also set up membership levels and manage group access. Plus, it allows for group enrollments, so entire districts can access the same content and work through activities together. WPLMS integrates with BuddyPress for social features, so you can set up message boards and chat groups. It’s also primarily browser-based, which should cover most of your needs.

Check out DrivEd LMS. They offer a lot of functionality right out of the box and are flexible enough to fill any gaps when needed.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions and offers to help! I will shoot some DMs over in the next couple of days. I appreciate the various thoughts and paths!

I worked for a large urban district to design, develop, and deliver professional learning for teachers and administrators. I’ve since launched my own company where I partner with educational consultants and school districts to help them transform their content into e-learning courses. If you’d like to learn more about me or talk, feel free to message me.

Just a note from someone not offering you services. All LMS companies will do a free consult to show off their system, so you can see if it fits your needs. You can also submit a requirements sheet for them to fill out before talking to them.

Can help with scoping and finding the LMS for your requirements. Please reach out if you still need assistance.

Hey there! It sounds like you’re working on a really exciting project. MRCC EdTech’s NetVidya LMS might be a great fit. It’s highly customizable and could support various access levels for different groups. It handles multimedia content well and has features for group collaboration, perfect for the workbook activities you mentioned. If you’re looking for consultants, MRCC EdTech could provide guidance as well.

Learnworlds. I have used their service. Their pricing is high, but they may suit your needs. On the other side, LearnDash with H5P on WordPress is another attractive option for you.

Excited for you taking steps to expand your company’s reach through online offerings. Would welcome the opportunity to connect to learn more about your strategic plan.

TrainerCentral should be a good fit for you. It can support all of the listed requirements. Happy to chat, feel free to DM me.

What about Thinkific platform?
