Is there a good way to check the reputation of a learning program?

Hey everyone… I’m thinking about taking a program from Emeritus, but it’s quite an investment in both time and money. I’m unsure about their reputation in the professional world. I’m trying to improve my skills after missing out on some on-the-job training. An accredited university isn’t an option for me right now, so I’m hoping to find some guidance on how to identify reputable programs. Any advice would be much appreciated!

If you can log the course on LinkedIn under the ‘licenses & certifications’ section, that’s a good sign it’s recognized by the industry. If it’s not there, it might not be as sought after.

That makes sense! I’ll check if it’s listed on LinkedIn. Thanks!

Look for user ratings and reviews. If a course has a lot of stars and positive feedback, it’s probably decent. But if reviews are disabled, that’s a red flag.

Good point! I’ll be sure to pay attention to that. I want to avoid a scam.

Just remember that a high price doesn’t always mean high quality. There are plenty of overpriced courses out there, so be cautious.

Right? It’s easy to think that if it costs more, it must be better. I’ll keep that in mind!

Check out forums and communities related to your field. They often share their experiences with different courses, which can help you make a more informed choice.

Great idea! I’ll look for forums where people discuss their experiences. Thanks!

If possible, reach out to alumni of the program. They can give you the inside scoop on whether it was worth it.

I hadn’t thought of that! I’ll see if I can find anyone who’s completed the program. Appreciate it!
