Insights On Absorb LMS

Anyone have experience with it? I am really having some doubts about the system itself and want to know if it is a me thing, or something others have experienced.

Hi, I recently tested out Absorb and what shone for me was their search functionality which essentially makes it possible for your LMS to double as a knowledge base. Do you know how Saba’s search compares?

I implemented absorb at my company less than a year ago. No complaints yet. What questions do you have about it?

I am considering to have my company switch to this LMS. I was curious to know if admins are capable of creating annual processes (e.g. performance evaluations) or interim processes (e.g., introductory period evaluations).

The system does have the ability to create enrollments that recertify on an annual basis as well as enrollments with short term due dates (like 90 days for example). From your question, it sounds like you are looking for more of an HR not Learning management system to help facilitate onboarding and performance processes.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly!

Right now, my company uses Saba TalentSpace (which is now part of Cornerstone), and we’re a non-profit. I’ve been using it for about a year and really like how customizable it is, but I don’t think our team fully understands it or what we need.

We picked Saba TalentSpace mainly for its performance and compensation features. We do our annual evaluations through the LMS, and I suggested moving our 90-day evaluations there too to keep everything organized.

The compensation module didn’t work well because my team didn’t realize that scores only matter if all steps are completed, and the Excel reports it generated didn’t have formulas, making it hard to manipulate data after merit increases.

Plus, our training content hasn’t been used much—many courses aren’t categorized, and I was the first to upload original training since no one knows what SCORM is.

To wrap it up, we also have ADP Workforce, which can handle performance, but I doubt anyone’s looked into it because of our toxic work environment.

Do you know of any LMS similar to Saba TalentSpace that has integrated performance and compensation modules? I’ve checked out Absorb and TalentLMS so far.
