How to presell a course

Hey everyone! I’m working on developing an online course and am eager to start building buzz before it launches. I’ve heard that preselling can be a great strategy to gauge interest and secure early sign-ups. Could someone explain how to presell a course effectively? What are the best strategies, tools, and approaches to ensure a successful presell campaign? Thanks in advance for your insights!

To successfully launch your course, start by defining your ideal student. Create a detailed profile of their needs and goals to tailor your marketing. Craft a compelling course offer by highlighting how it addresses their pain points and consider offering exclusive bonuses to prompt early sign-ups. Build excitement by using a countdown timer and drip marketing, and keep your audience engaged with social media teasers. Choose the right sales platform, whether it’s a course site like Teachable or your own website. Offer flexible payment plans and secure payment options. Provide value before the sale with free content or webinars and build a community for potential students. Finally, track your pre-launch efforts with analytics and feedback to refine your course. Tools like Mailchimp, Leadpages, and Buffer can help streamline these processes.

To pre-sell your course, you need to:

  • Come up with a course idea
  • Outline your course
  • Create the first module
  • Price your course
  • Create a presale page
  • Create your launch funnel
  • Start building an audience
  • Create a live challenge
  • Sell your course

Every phase of the purchase cycle benefits greatly from AdWords, starting with increasing awareness of your course and ending with persuading potential clients to take the ultimate step of purchasing it.
Because you have such tight cost control with AdWords, I believe this is a perfect answer to the problem.
I’m going through this process right now. For 30 days, I will be running AdWords at £5 per day. Paying is limited to the clicks. If you’re not getting clicks on your ads, there’s probably a problem with the copy, and if people aren’t converting on your course, there’s obviously a problem with the sales page. I hope this was useful :slightly_smiling_face:

I’d create a free short course on YouTube to persuade people to sign up for the course. For example, suppose you want to offer a course in Adobe Photoshop, a really sophisticated software with a million different things you can do if you know how. It is not the type of program where you can rely on guesswork.
