I’ve been using Teachable for about seven years now, mainly selling art courses. My annual renewal is coming up, and I’m doing my due diligence to see if there’s a better option out there that combines three important features for my business: I need an LMS to host my courses, a MOR to collect and remit taxes, and a community space for my students to discuss lessons. Teachable handles the first two decently, but I’m aware of its quirks and issues. They closed their Circle.so community last year without plans to reopen, and I’ve been using Circle for my community, which has its own challenges but works well enough. My main concern is that Teachable seems to be struggling as a company with significant staff turnover and no clear roadmap. The r/teachable subreddit feels dead, and I’d love to connect with other users to share solutions and ideas. How are y’all feeling about Teachable these days?
Would you consider switching to Thinkific?
I’ve heard of Thinkific. Do they have all the features I need?
Thinkific has an integration with Circle, or you can use their own community product, but it’s pretty basic.
Thanks for the info! I’ll look into that integration. It could be helpful.
Payhip does everything except the community space.
That’s good to know. I need to weigh my options carefully since community is a big part of my courses.
