Expiration of online program London University without being finished

Dear all, my wife enrolled in an online B.Sc. program in Finance and Accounting at London University. Due to moving and having two kids, she couldn’t finish within the eight-year timeframe and is about 2/3 done. The university reviewed her case but denied her request for an extension. They offered a Certificate of Higher Education since she has over 120 credit points, but there’s a caveat: she’s “not permitted to continue to study an EMFSS degree with Worldwide.” We’re confused about what that means. Does it mean she gets a diploma but can’t continue at another university? Shouldn’t she be able to get a statement of completed classes to transfer? What’s the best approach?

It’s best to clarify with the school, but ‘EMFSS’ likely refers to London University itself. They should provide a transcript, which you need for transfer credits. How the classes are treated is up to the new school, not London University.

Thanks for your reply! We’re trying to get clarification from London University, but they’ve been slow to respond. We will definitely ask for the transcript.

I appreciate your insight! It seems like the transcript is key for the transfer process.

Just a heads up, the school you want to transfer to will need to request the transcript directly. Your copy won’t count.

I went through a similar situation. Make sure to keep records of all her completed coursework. It can help in negotiating transfer credits at the new university.

That’s a good point! I’ll ensure we keep detailed records of everything.

If she receives the Certificate of Higher Education, it might open doors at certain institutions, but checking with potential schools about transfer policies is crucial.
