eLearning vendors? Who is good? Are any?

Hi everyone

My company is switching to a new LMS and we decided to not just stick with what we had. We want to find some additional eLearning content that doesn’t suck. (And a vendor that’s good to work with)

Any one have good stories to share when it comes to an eLearning vendor? Any one find eLearning modules that aren’t the same old stuff?

US based, looking for your standard allotment of HR training (sexual harassment, IT security,etc) plus hopefully some soft skills, Microsoft/technology, 101 level stuff that employees say they want to take

Going to Schoox as the LMS, so most courses should be compatible.

Spoke with SkillSoft already but their stuff is so… blah… and they were too busy to try to upsell rather than answer questions/listen.

I am in a corporate environment

So, to help you get more answers, you’ll want to define:

Are you looking for bespoke content or off the shelf content?

I hear good things about Sweetrush, and know a senior ID that works for them from here.

Congrats! When it comes to eLearning content - are you looking for off-the-shelf content or custom/bespoke content? For off-the-shelf I’ve heard of people using Go1, OpenSesame & LinkedIn Learning.

Another factor might be what LMS you’re changing to and what options/integrations they provide

I would say YouTube is the best solution you can get: It’s free, it’s always updated, high quality in most cases, you can find anything there, and your employees are already there.

For all the compliance, I would suggest to use surveymonkey. Just put in the “training” in text form and have people answer a few lame quizzes at the end. Surveymonkey is very cheap and it can keep track of who has completed what.

Kineo in the US is pretty good. I used to work for the Aus branch and the whole company is very forward thinking. They came up with a responsive design framework and changed e-learning but going open source with it.

I can’t recommend a specific vendor (or even myself) as I am not in that development space. However, in your situation it wouldn’t be a bad idea to create an idea of curricula and get quotes and samples from developers. One thing I can’t express enough is having someone “in house” or even in your city that offers easy face-to-face meetings through iterations will make everything go so much better. Yes, you can contract outside but that can be a whole new set of problems.

I have to bump to say go1 is fucking awful and should be shunned by every company.

One method of teaching doesn’t suit anyone.

Putting 1 point, in 1 paragraph, in 1 slide so that people cannot reread things easily to get answer to your quizes are bad.

Their accessibility is beyond awful.

Their UX is atrocious.

Their elearning on phishing is incorrect and dangerous.
