Best Audio Host for Platforms like Teachable and Thinkific... any suggestions?

Hi, for years I’ve used SoundCloud to host the audio portions of my online courses on Teachable, but I’m moving now to Thinkific. SoundCloud was great because it provided analytics, but a student recently pointed out that it requires everyone to create an account in order to download. I feel like that’s a bit much when people are already tired of downloading and giving permissions to new apps. So, for those of you who offer audio content, what programs do you use to host that content and provide analytics or tracking?

I’ve been using Podbean for my audio content. It’s user-friendly and doesn’t require listeners to create accounts to download. Plus, it has decent analytics.

That sounds promising. I’ll check it out. Do you find their analytics helpful?

Yes, it gives you insights on plays, downloads, and listener demographics, which is really handy.

I use Anchor. It’s free and allows for easy sharing and embedding. Plus, it offers analytics without requiring listeners to sign up.

I’ve heard of Anchor but wasn’t sure how it works for courses. Thanks for the info.

Have you considered using Vimeo? They have a good audio hosting option with analytics, and it doesn’t require users to create accounts for downloads.

Vimeo sounds like a solid option. I’ll compare it with the others. Thanks for the suggestion!

I recommend using Dropbox for audio files. You can share direct download links without requiring accounts, and it’s pretty straightforward.

That’s a good idea. I hadn’t thought about using Dropbox for audio. Do you have any tracking options with that?

Not built-in, but you can use link tracking through a service like Bitly to get some analytics.
