Has anyone heard of Santander Open Academy or taken any of their courses? I thought it would be similar to IBM’s SkillsBuild, but I find it kinda weird that such a small institution would launch a free online academy. Anyone have experience with this?
I’ve just signed up for a free online Spanish course with them. Hoping it’s legit
Same, I’m hoping it’s the real deal too! Did they ask you weird questions when you signed up?
Yeah, they asked me some random questions that seemed kinda unrelated, but I guess it’s part of the process lol.
It’s actually pretty common for institutions like Santander (they’re a huge bank) to have programs like this. They probably just want to promote learning!
Thanks for explaining that! I didn’t know banks ran these kinds of things.
Did you have to take a test? I got a weird online test when I signed up, and it didn’t feel related to the course at all!
Yeah, they had me take a test too. Felt kinda random, but I’m just glad I got in. Doing an AI course now.
Good to know I’m not the only one! I just want to start the course already.
I applied but got rejected. Does anyone know how often they open up new spots? Or why I got rejected?
Me too! I think they open the course twice a year, but not totally sure. I’m hoping they expand the number of spots soon.
I hope so too. I thought I gave a good reason for wanting to join, but still didn’t make it. I’ll keep an eye out for new opportunities.
I’m in the middle of their Python course and it’s actually pretty solid! I was skeptical at first, but it’s free so I figured why not?
Good to hear! I’m thinking of signing up for that one. How’s the pacing?
It’s self-paced, so you can go as fast or slow as you want. No pressure, which I like.
