Is there a way for potential customers to preview our course? Currently, we’ve uploaded the file to SCORMCloud since we don’t have an LMS yet. We have interested customers who want to try the course, but we need to ensure the course content is protected.
I understand SCORMCloud allows a limited number of test users, possibly around 5 people. However, I’m concerned about potential piracy through screen recording. Am I being too cautious? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
hi breigha, listen,If you decide to share a test version of your course, ensure you remove any sensitive information and disable features like progress tracking that aren’t meant for public testing.
Keep in mind that testers may not experience the full functionality of the course outside a real LMS environment.
You can use features in your authoring tool to let potential buyers try out your SCORM course safely. Also, consider adding security to your course content, like disabling right-click or adding interactive parts to prevent screen recording. Try different options in your authoring tool to find a good mix of security and ease of use for your customers.
The ability to publish to the web ought to be included in almost all eLearning authoring tools. After then, it can be hosted on a web server and accessed without the need for an LMS. Many hosting sites are available that could handle hosting it for you. Google Cloud Storage was used by me.
@Dota Nice. We made it available as an HTML-SCORM, while they also offer additional formats. Although I didn’t notice a webpage as an alternative, I’ll investigate.
If I may ask, is it possible to stop unauthorized individuals from viewing it if it is accessible through a platform like Google Cloud?
Is this just for previews, or can you sell it this way?
Would it also be completely working in this manner?
Make a trail version of the file that is devoid of any content and has watermarks indicating that it is a trail. Then, use scormcloud to rotate users. Thus, after a predetermined amount of time, the original five are gone for another five.
